MATCH is a pan-European network of doctoral training that is pushing the boundaries of multicore fiber (MCF) technology. The main goal of this project is to make future optical communication networks more powerful, cost-effective and energy-efficient. Within this framework, the development of high-performance multicore fibers is being driven forward, while innovative optical components and subsystems are being designed and implemented. In addition, machine learning is used to optimize network utilization, and the coexistence of telecommunication and non-telecommunication signals is investigated. The project is funded under the EU's Marie Skłodowska-Curie program. 2 PhD Fellowships within the framework of the MATCH project are offered at Iscte.
